CLEANING / AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOW FILM
Installation
The curing period of the adhesive to the window often causes a slightly misty appearance. This is normal and will clear in a short period of time (usually around 7 – 60 days) depending on the thickness of the window film.
In very cold weather the curing process may take longer and the mistiness may be more pronounced. Nevertheless, the window film will clear to provide perfect clarity.
Security Window Film
Small bubbles of water (up to 2.5cm diameter) may appear after installation. These are simply small globules of water collecting into larger pockets. During the curing period (up to 30 days) these will disperse and ultimately leave you with superb protection.
PLEASE under no circumstances touch the window film or attempt to ‘push out’ any bubbles.
After Care
Do not clean the window for 28 days. Thereafter, only use a chamois leather, soft cloth or rubber squeegee.
After the curing period, ‘point of sale’ literature may be stuck to the window film. Please do not use Sellotape because of the aggressive adhesive. We would advise the use of Simple tape which has a low tack adhesive. This is a white tape available from stationery shops.
When fitting credit card signs and other permanent posters, we would advise that the area is sprayed with soapy water to allow the poster to be positioned correctly and then allowed to dry out naturally.
After the curing period the product may be cleaned in the normal way using soapy water and window wipe. We do not advise the use of abrasive creams, but a spray polish may be used to enhance the appearance.
DO NOT USE BRUSHES OR ABRASIVE CLEANERS.
All our window films are fitted to the IWFA quality standard as outlined in this document. |
